Home Hair Removal Laser
I hate shaving because i always cut myself and it is a hassel! Is it possible for a light skin light haired person to get laser hair removal? Or any type of hair removal…. if there are others.

2010 Feb 04 1Ideally, light skin and dark hair are the best combination. This is because the darker hair is more receptive to the laser. This doesn’t mean that it won’t work if you have light hair. It may require a few additional treatments. However, if you’re considering it you should see a dermatologist for a consultation. They will be able to give you a specific analysis for your skin/hair type.

2010 Feb 04 2It depends on how light the hair is, white or gray can present problems for most hair lasers. Some clinics will work with gray hairs though. Some lasers also have problems with blond hair and red hairs, however, with new technology a lot of clinics can even treat red and even blond hairs. For lighter colored hair, you want to look for a laser that combines light energy with radio frequencies.
Your only other option for permanent hair removal is electrolysis, which can be a time consuming process. It might be your only option though if your hair is too light.
