OMG is this true about laser hair removal?
27 Nov 2009
I heard laser hair removal is not permanent hair removal but permanent hair "reduction". O.K fine lets say that its just "reduction". Will THAT be permanent at least? If after all 8 treatments are done, it will only last 6 months to a year without you having to shave or wax, and then the hair grows back and you need more treatments??
Can someone please explain this?

2009 Nov 27 1Laser Hair Removal is FDA approved for "permanent hair reduction" because it will reduce hair 90% of the time plus or minus 10%. So you should realistically expect an 80% reduction in hair.
Hope this helped!

2009 Nov 27 2I have heard that in order for it to "leave the country" so to speak, you will need up to 6 treatments!!!! That’s a lot of money if you ask me!!!

2009 Nov 27 3There’s is a great webiste that has some good tips and techniques that you can use on your hair. There are also some third party options that are reliable. The site is http://www.hairfinish.com They also have some info about how the process works and I am sure its permanent. Hope you get your answer.

2009 Nov 27 4Laser hair removal treatment is not permanent.
If you have regularly scheduled treatments, over time it MAY become permanent. However, it really depends on what kind of hair you have. If you have thick, course, dark hair, the treatment is going to be more effective. The reductions and perhaps eventual permanency of hair removal had a better chance than with lighter, thinner hair.
Hair reduction is a likely outcome, but complete removal is going to take many treatments over many years.
